Behind LOFT
Let's dive into the powerhouse behind LOFT, an exceptional partnership of industry professionals (and yes, we may be a tad biased). LOFT is an acronym for Luxurious Overnights For Travellers, coined from the origins of its initial property, The Loft, Corlette, which has recently rebranded to LOFT Corlette. LOFT's purpose is to create unique, and memorable stays for guests visiting Port Stephens. With its recent expansion to a second property in Shoal Bay, the brand now boasts two gorgeous locations in both Shoal Bay and Corlette.

At the forefront of design is Zoe Pohlmann, the creative director at Your Home Designs. With extensive experience from numerous building design projects, her role encompasses much more than just design. At LOFT, she takes on multiple responsibilities, serving as project manager and expertly overseeing both interior and exterior selections and specifications. She is also the primary point of contact for guests at LOFT, ensuring a seamless experience. If you've spoken to LOFT, you've more than likely spoken with Zoe. Her partner Tyson from Nel Constructions turns her visionary designs into tangible reality. With over 20 years of expertise under his belt in the construction industry, Tyson coordinates materials, trades, and every meticulous detail of the build and property maintenance.

"We are a young family who has lived in the area for over 15 years, my partner Tyson grew up in a small cottage home similar to our Loft Shoal Bay - we have been looking to buy in Shoal Bay for years and have finally found the perfect place to extend our love to the area and share the experiences we hold so dearly to our hearts. We hope everyone's stay is memorable and we would love nothing more than to welcome our guests back again".

With LOFT Corlette bringing guests amazing experiences since 2020, Zoe and Tyson were ready to put back on the tool belt and find another property to transform. With the perfect place popping up in early 2024, the time was right, and the stars aligned, allowing them to secure what would soon become LOFT Shoal Bay. Its origins were strictly ‘potential’, securing a rundown beach cottage complete with a toilet in the backyard was quickly transformed into the luxurious and character-filled property that guests are now enjoying. After purchasing the property in March 2024, they hosted their first guests at Shoal Bay in October. Meaning they turned the design, approvals and construction around in a mere 7 months. If that wasn't impressive enough, they also became first-time parents during the renovation, welcoming their beautiful daughter Quincy in July 2024.
